Picture, if possible, the next subject for a novel: herione novel Transexual named Nicky Farrell, who returns to his Northern Virginia alma mater, Windfield, to teach English as an associate professor. This college she attended when she was a man. Nicky does not know that she has a son in the nearby city of illicit love it at the time of his male students days. Windfield College was funded and built by Randall Windfield, the sole surviving heir to the rich Hendrix Windfield III, who wanted to create Randall as a successor to run the family empire. But to hear that Randall was a homosexual, his father humiliated on a big dinner, and probably abandoned it, if not for the fact that he and other brothers perished in a plane crash, leaving Randall as an heir.
Nickie person had to deal with when she was a man called Nick and Luanne Skinner, the wife of a former police officer James Robert “Jay-Bo” Skinner, who she had twins, a boy and a girl, at any time affair. She added Nick, and his gentle love-making and that it was one blue and one brown eye. The boy, who brought the case, Colin “Collie” Skinner also has two multi-colored eyes. It can not be biased, red-necked father’s views, although he is not like gays, and they were hard-to-face hearing of the lesbian love of her sister when she was in the army, and that her suicide was the result of the news release. As you read, you just know that Nicky and collie destined eventually meet. The only question is when and how each will react to others.
In addition, there is a disturbing subplot involving Ambassador Eamon Douglas, who is dying of cancer and who considers himself a patriot. He hates the reduction, he imagines what is happening in America, caused by liberals, Jews, homosexuals, etc., as well as the easy target of his hatred and prejudice, he chose Windfield College. He hatches the idea of resorting to the aid of his old friend, Russian, Egor Antonovich, who is a former KGB agent to obtain cesium-137, and then sacrifice himself for a suicide bombing in college.
This is only a brief outline of the plot. When I read about this before reading, as well as read that the author herself, “Iolanta” Woulff, a boy, the son of the famous writer Herman Woulk, and twenty-five years later passed a gender transition, I thought, honestly say that the plot was kind of strange and Twisted. I thought that, despite the author’s father being a famous author, but also that there is a good chance of romance is not so well written and will probably be shit. On top of these initial feelings, even though I live and let live attitude about their sexual preferences, I am heterosexual and happily married with children, and I was clever, that there may be some graphic sex scenes in the novel and that he ‘D some wretched novel soft-core gay porn.
Here I am being honest – but I’m glad I read the novel, I mean, She’s My Dad, and I think this is one of the most competent and well-written books I have read in a long time. Yolanda Woulff is a wonderful writer who reminds me of a cross between John Irving, at least, when I think of the novel World According to Garp, and Tom Wolfe. The fictional Windfield College portrayed brilliantly, and the damage that some of the townspeople to college and gays in the face of limited and colorful characters such as Jay-Bo, Eamon, Douglas and others, deftly managed.
The name of the novel is not really my favorite, but it reflects the possible collie love and acceptance of his father. This is a relatively small beef, though, writing perfect in everything, and it does not matter that the subject of the book, which is the most important factor for me from that, the book is a “good” and spend the time to read it or not. It is my father, Page-Turning debut novel, and I hope that he gets a wide audience. I look forward to reading more from the talented pen Iolanta Woulff in the future.
