When all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) first hit the market in 1970, they were something new, interesting and unique. The first was a 90cc ATV made in Japan, but sold worldwide. In those days, ATVs are not suspension, as such, but rely on the tires of a large ball to soften the ride.

As the name implies, ATV is designed to go off the road, all types of terrain. This ability makes them not only a lot of fun to drive in different conditions, but also makes them very useful for all kinds of work where the normal, full-sized vehicle can be an obstacle. They are more on the farm or ranch in the woods or mountains.

The first all-terrain vehicles (known as ATC 90) appeared in the early James Bond 007 movies and they can be seen on several television programs including a 70-Hart to Hart “and” Magnum PI. Designed to include the use of three wheels, and they were affectionately known as three-wheelers funds. Driven a motorcycle with a wheel and the driver straddling the seat, they had to carry only one person, the operator.

Dimensions ATV engines range from 49cc to 1000cc in the low end of the upper range, with every conceivable size between them. Kids love to fewer models for the pleasure they provide. They can be adjusted to achieve a given speed, to enhance security. Hunters love ATVs on their ability to go where other vehicles can not. They are useful and fun at the same time.

ATVs are legal for street use in some countries, but mostly they are only allowed off-road. They are easily transported in a pickup bed. They usually include a long list of safe and convenient functions such as hydraulic brakes, press the “Start” button and good lights, to name a few. Some are even equipped with a safety device called a Remote Switch kill. This allows you to control who the child riding one of these machines remotely kill the engine in the event of problems.

3-wheeled ATVs were discontinued back in 1980 and was replaced by a more stable 4-Wheeler, also known as the Quad. Some ATVs are also available in 6-wheel configuration, which is useful in some applications. Many of the old 3-vehicles are currently not, and the rest of them sought after serious collectors. They were more flexible and easier to maneuver than their brothers Quad, but also easier to roll over and crash.

ATVs good use in many areas. They are especially popular among hunters and fishermen, as they allow them easy access to remote areas. They found various uses on farms and ranches, and can be equipped to pull wagons, snow blade, or simply what you might think. They are completely versatile in its functions. They even, in some sense, replace the use of horses on some ranches. They can be used to reach the fence line to repair or aspires to share.

First 90cc ATV was the beginning of the revolution. Many more cars followed and continue to monitor. What started with one company and one model has now spread to dozens of companies with hundreds of variations of ATV various sizes and configurations. And the wheels keep turning.
